Do I need to log in with Steam?

No Steam login required. You can paste your Steam profile URL or 17-digit Steam ID, or skip Steam entirely and take the taste quiz instead. Steam OpenID login is also available for a faster connection.

How are LudScout recommendations different from Steam's?

Steam recommendations serve a broad marketplace. LudScout focuses on personalized discovery using your play history and current preferences. We analyze your actual hours played, factor in your current mood and squad size, surface hidden gems, and explain why each pick matches your taste.

Can I get price-drop alerts for games I want?

Yes. Add any game to your LudScout wishlist and we'll track its Steam price. When it goes on sale, you'll get an alert so you can grab it at the best price.

What are hidden gems?

Hidden Gems is a Pro feature that finds underrated, niche, and overlooked games matching your taste — titles with under 20,000 Steam reviews that deserve more attention but won't appear on Steam's front page or discovery queue.

Is my Steam data private?

Your Steam profile must be set to public for us to read your game library and playtime. We cache profile data to speed up repeat visits and never share it with third parties. You can delete your search history at any time.

Can I share my recommendations with friends?

Yes. After getting your picks, you can share a public link to your recommendation page. Friends don't need an account to view your shared picks.

Welcome to LudScout. Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using our Service. By using LudScout, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. You also acknowledge that you have reviewed our Privacy Policy.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LudScout ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. These Terms are effective as of August 9, 2026 (version 1.0).

2. No Affiliation with Valve

LudScout is an independent service and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, approved by, or endorsed by Valve Corporation or Steam. Steam and the Steam logo are trademarks of Valve Corporation. All game names, images, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. We use the Steam Web API in accordance with its terms.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create a LudScout account and use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old. LudScout is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

4. Description of Service

LudScout is an independent, AI-powered game recommendation tool that analyzes your Steam library and playtime data to suggest games you may enjoy. The Service also offers wishlist bookmarking, price-drop alerts, curated game lists, and an optional Pro subscription.

5. User Accounts and Security

Certain features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep your account information up to date. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to access, tamper with, or disrupt our systems or data; (c) scrape, crawl, or reverse-engineer the Service; (d) abuse the Steam Web API or our systems through excessive requests; (e) use bots or automated tools without our permission; (f) impersonate another person or entity; or (g) use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service.

7. Steam Account Connections

When you connect your Steam account, you authorize us to retrieve your public profile and game library data via the Steam Web API. You are responsible for ensuring your Steam privacy settings allow access to the data you want us to use. Steam information may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable. We are not responsible for inaccurate recommendations if your Steam profile is private or incomplete. You can disconnect Steam at any time from your Account Settings.

8. Game Recommendations

Game recommendations are generated by AI and automated systems based on your playtime data and stated preferences. We do not guarantee that recommendations will be accurate, appropriate, or satisfying. Recommendations are provided for entertainment purposes only. You are solely responsible for any purchasing decisions you make based on our recommendations.

9. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses artificial intelligence and language models to generate recommendations and other content. AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. Game names, prices, app IDs, store URLs, and images are generated by AI and may not always be correct. Always verify information on the Steam store before making a purchase. We are not liable for any losses resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.

10. Third-Party Information

Steam information and other third-party information displayed on the Service may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable. Game prices, review summaries, and other data may not reflect the current state of the Steam store. Always verify information on Steam directly.

11. Subscription Billing

LudScout offers a paid "Pro" subscription (LudScout Pro) at $2.99/monthly, billed in advance. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. The subscription automatically renews each billing cycle until canceled.

12. Free Trials

No free trial is currently offered. If a free trial is offered in the future, you will be informed of the trial length before checkout, and your subscription will begin automatically at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before it ends.

13. Renewals

Your subscription automatically renews each billing cycle (monthly) until you cancel. The recurring charge of $2.99 will be billed to the payment method on file. You will be charged on the same day each billing cycle. If we change your subscription price, we will notify you at least 7 days before the new price takes effect, and you may cancel before the renewal to avoid the new charge.

14. Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your Account Settings or the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will continue to have access to Pro features until then. No further charges will occur after cancellation.

15. Refund Policy

All subscription payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. You can cancel at any time from your account settings to stop future charges; access remains until the end of the current paid billing period. To request a refund, contact us at hello.ludscout@gmail.com.

16. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violations of these Terms. Upon termination for cause, paid subscription fees are non-refundable. Upon voluntary termination, access continues until the end of the current billing period.

17. Intellectual Property and User Submissions

The Service's design, code, and original content are owned by LudScout. Game names, images, and data belong to their respective owners, including Valve Corporation. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our original content without permission. If you submit feedback, suggestions, bug reports, or other content to us, you grant LudScout a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use and incorporate that content to improve the Service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any content you submit.

18. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with and links to third-party websites and services, including Steam (Valve Corporation), Stripe, Base44, and AI providers. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or policies of third parties. Your use of third-party services is subject to their terms and policies.

19. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that recommendations will be accurate, useful, or suitable for you. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LudScout and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months.

21. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the version number and effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify users of significant changes.

23. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Alameda County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
